Biografía
Lydia Hayes is a PhD Candidate in the Centre for Translation Studies (CenTraS) at University College London (UCL). She teaches Spanish-English translation at the University of Bristol and Spanish oral language at UCL’s Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies department (SPLAS). She is also a freelance translator, proofreader and dialogue writer. She holds a MA in Traducción y Mediación Intercultural from Universidad de Salamanca and a BA in European Studies from Trinity College Dublin. Her research delves into the performative role played by accents in the creation of cultural identities in original and dubbed texts, in dual directionality between English and Spanish.
