Biografía

José Fernando Carrero Martín has a Master’s degree in Creative and Humanistic Translation and a Bachelor’s degree in Translation and Intercultural Mediation by the Universitat de València. He is a collaborator of the research group CiTrans (Intercultural Communication and Translation). He has been working at the Universitat de València as an associate professor since 2018 and in the Instituto Superior de Estudios Lingüísticos y Traducción since 2019.
On a professional level, he works as a freelance translator, interpreter, and project manager since 2016, specializing in the fields of video game localization and project management, technical and touristic translation, and interpreting. He has also been president of the Asociación Española Universitaria de Traductores e Intérpretes en Formación (AETI) and is currently a board member of the Xarxa - Red de Traductores e Intérpretes en la Comunitat Valènciana (the Valencian Community Regional Translation and Interpreting Association).
He is currently working on a PhD on the history of Audiovisual Translation in Latin America and Europe. His fields of research are audiovisual translation history, Neutral Spanish, translation techniques and methods.
